- Number System contains ten digits 0, 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. There are only ten digits but numbers are infinite.
- The Largest and Smallest numbers
The Smallest one digit number is 0 and the largest one digit number is 9
The smallest two digit number is 10 and the largest two digit number is 99
The smallest three digit number is 100 and the largest three digit number is 999
- Place Value : In number system value ( place value ) of digit is depend on the position of that digit in number.

- Numbers in Order
Descending order : Arranging numbers from the largest number to the least number is called Descending order
- Rules for comparison of numbers
Rule 2 : If two numerals has same numbers of digits, the numeral having greater digit at the left most place will be greater
Rule 3 : If the left most digits are also same , consider the next digit from the left and compare. If these digits are also the same , then consider the next digits from the left and compare. The number with greater digit in this place will be greater.
- Even and Odd numbers :
Odd Number : The numbers that have 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 in the ones place are called odd number
